Druid Hills Golf Club, founded in 1912, was designed by Englishman H.H. Barker, winner of the Irish Open in 1906. Renowned for its natural beauty and historic significance, the course was extensively renovated in 2003 by famed golf course architect Bob Cupp, whose charter was to return the property to its original Golden Era design--featuring narrow fairways and few artificial traps allowing players to experience the gracious green spaces of the Druid Hills course. The Club has hosted eight Georgia State Amateur Championships and can boast having held 81 championships including the Dogwood Invitational, since the club’s establishment. The Dogwood is ranked as having one of the best fields among amateur tournaments in the world. The future of professional golf can be seen on the Druid Hills links during the Dogwood. Past players include: Webb Simpson, Dustin Johnson, Bill Haas, Kyle Stanley, Matt Kuchar, Eric Compton, Hunter Mahan, Lucas Glover and Harris English to name a few. One round of golf for three with member host. Carts and lunch included. Contact golf shop to schedule tee time. Expires March 24, 2025.
A note from GSGA Foundation: The GSGA Foundation Auction raises funds to support its Yates and Moncrief Scholarship Programs. For over 30 years, the Yates Scholarship Program has provided college grants to employees, and their dependents, at GSGA member clubs across the state. The Moncrief Scholarship Program honors deserving students in the field of agronomy and turf management at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, the University of Georgia, and students who work and live in Georgia but attend an accredited program outside of the state. We appreciate the support of all those who have generously donated rounds of golf for this auction.
Additionally, the GSGA Foundation enriches the lives of others through the game of golf by increasing opportunities for individuals with physical, cognitive, and sensory disabilities to play golf through our Adaptive Golf Program, and growing affordable access to golf for thousands of juniors through Youth on Course Georgia. The GSGA Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable corporation and contributions are tax-deductible.
