Augusta Country Club was founded in 1899 and was the first golf club established in Augusta, GA. Four gentlemen brought the game of golf to Augusta and now the city is an international hub for the sport. With its 18-hole Donald Ross re-designed golf course, Augusta Country Club winds through Augusta pines and Rae’s Creek. August Country Club held the 1930 Southeastern Open where amateur Bobby Jones defeated professional Horton Smith. The club has also been the host site for six Georgia Amateur Championships and two Georgia Women’s Amateur Championship. Rooted in golf history, a round at Augusta Country Club is sure to be a memorable experience. Golf for three with carts with club host. Mutually agreed upon date.
A note from GSGA Foundation: The GSGA Foundation Auction raises funds to support its Yates and Moncrief Scholarship Programs. For over 30 years, the Yates Scholarship Program has provided college grants to employees, and their dependents, at GSGA member clubs across the state. The Moncrief Scholarship Program honors deserving students in the field of agronomy and turf management at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, the University of Georgia, and students who work and live in Georgia but attend an accredited program outside of the state. We appreciate the support of all those who have generously donated rounds of golf for this auction.
Additionally, the GSGA Foundation enriches the lives of others through the game of golf by increasing opportunities for individuals with physical, cognitive, and sensory disabilities to play golf through our Adaptive Golf Program, and growing affordable access to golf for thousands of juniors through Youth on Course Georgia. The GSGA Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable corporation and contributions are tax-deductible.
